Accessibility Network Welcomes New Faculty

The Accessibility Network at the University of Cincinnati hosted a table at UC’s New Faculty Orientation on Wednesday, August 16th, 2017. Representatives from across the university, including IT@UC, Accessibility Resources, and Center for Enhancement of Teaching and Learning talked with new faculty about electronic accessibility (eAccessibility).

While at the booth, visitors learned about eAccessibility and how to Start Small by incorporating one eAccessibility technique into their digital materials this semester. A handout filled with starter ideas was just one takeaway from the booth. The other, an example of an accessible syllabus, diagrammed how to incorporate eAccessibility into online syllabus documents.

Using the newly revamped Accessibility Network website as a resource for best practices and tutorials, the starter information in the handouts for ways to start small, and contacts from the program for personal troubleshooting questions, new faculty are on their way to start incorporating eAccessibility techniques into their electronic materials.
