Adobe Products Expand
Adobe Creative Cloud (for UC employees only)
For employees, the UC contract provides limited licenses for On-premise Adobe Creative Cloud software suite. Please note, the Creative Cloud software may be activated on up to two computers which may be accessed by such Faculty Member or Staff Member using a unique log-in identifier. The Adobe Creative Cloud is a subscription based service, and as such the current monthly charge is $13.67 per license that is subject to change annually. . The Creative Cloud software suite can be requested through the University’s GetIT online ordering portal. Installation of the software will need to be handled through an IT Manager. Once the order is processed, your IT Manager will receive an email with instructions for the installation of the Creative Cloud software. The user will receive an e-mail from Adobe to confirm their account and for finishing the setup of their AdobeID.

Adobe Acrobat Professional (for UC employees only)
An On-premise Adobe Acrobat Professional subscription is available for $2.50 per month that is subject to change annually. Licenses can be purchased from GetIT online ordering portal. Installation of the software will need to be handled through an IT Manager. Once the order is processed, your IT Manager will receive an email with instructions for the installation of the software.

Ai Squared (Zoomtext) Expand
ZoomText is the world’s leading magnification and reading software. With its easy to use features, ZoomText makes computers accessible and friendly to low-vision users.
Operating System: Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Installation on university-owned or leased computers is free for visually impaired, and the license does not expire. Installation on a student-owned computer is not covered under the site license program. Students may use ZoomText in the UCIT Computer Labs.

ArcGIS is an integrated suite of advanced GIS applications which includes ArcView, ArcEditor and ArcInfo. ArcEditor has all of the functionality of ArcView and more. Read more about ArcGIS and how to order.
Fact Mapper Expand
The "Fact Mapper" feature available on the Read &Write toolbar contains an extensive image library for use when creating fact maps.
You may also add your own images using the "Fact Mapper Image Uploader Tool." Images uploaded using this tool will be available for use by all copies of Read &Write running within your site.
3270 Emulator allows a Windows user to access the mainframe. Download the 3270 Emulator.
BI/Query, an enterprise Data Warehouse query and reporting application, requires software purchase and regular maintenance fees. You can learn more about UCIT’s BI/Query support services by reviewing the Applications and Websites page.
BI Web, a thin-client solution that provides Data Warehouse query and reporting capabilities over the Web, can be obtained by contacting the UCIT Help Desk at email@example.com or 513-556-4357.

Mathematica seamlessly integrates a numeric and symbolic computational engine, graphics system, programming language, documentation system and advanced connectivity to other applications. Read more about Mathematica and learn how to order.

MathWorks MatLab Expand
MathWorks MatLab Software Suite is a is a numerical computing environment that allows for manipulations, plotting of data, execution of algorithms and more.

Student software can be obtained for $99 per DVD at the UC Bookstores. For more information, please contact 513-556-1700 and select option "6". Students can also purchase and download directly from MathWorks. These licenses are perpetual and do not expire.
McAfee (Intel Security) Expand
UC has a Campus and School Agreement and Enrollment for Education Solutions (collectively “Agreement”) for Microsoft software products for use in departmental and home use for work-related purposes. All eligible users are herewith notified their use of any Microsoft software is subject to the terms of this Agreement, including but not limited to limitations on liability, disclaimer of warranties and exclusion of remedies. Software may only be used during the Licensed Period; if the Agreement is terminated, or expires, then all software subscriptions must be deleted.
Currently employed faculty and staff are eligible to use software, and consultants and volunteers may be entitled when currently active or performing work of value to the University, such as teaching, counseling, and certain business functions Those having entitlement, may also install the software on a personally owned computer solely for work-related purposes.
Members of the public may access PC’s that remain in University open access labs or libraries, but remote access to these is not permitted.
Following are some examples of those who are not eligible:
- Anyone enrolled exclusively in non-credit courses
- Family and friends who are not employed by the University)
- Conference and seminar attendees
- Retired faculty and staff
Software is not available for work-at-home, since discontinued by Microsoft. Home use will be available after migration to Office365 (email) in the near future.
Microsoft Skype for Business
Microsoft Lync is the central Instant Messaging and Conferencing service for faculty and staff at UC. As a complement to the UCMAIL system, it offers these additional Unified Communications features for faculty and staff. Instructions for installing and using Skype for Business can be found HERE.
R (http://www.r-project.org/) is a powerful statistical computing language, package, and environment for graphics and data analysis. It is FREE and Open Source. It compiles and runs on a wide variety of Windows, Mac OS, and UNIX platforms.

Read & Write software solutions help individuals struggling with reading and writing, those with learning disabilities such as Dyslexia or English Language Learners by ensuring that everyone has the literacy support they need to reach their potential and achieve independence.

Tableau Desktop is data visualization software that lets you see and understand data in minutes. When used in conjunction with the University’s Tableau Server, it comprises a complete business intelligence software solution. Tableau Desktop is typically used by data analysts or report authors to build and test visualizations prior to publishing them on Tableau Server. You do not need Tableau Desktop to view data visualizations that have been published to the server.
Faculty and Staff who are interested in building and publishing data visualizations are encouraged to try Tableau Desktop for free for 14 days. Downloads are available through the Tableau software page.

Tableau Server is a data analysis and publishing platform that lets you build, share and interact with web-based data visualizations and dashboards. The University of Cincinnati maintains a site license that allows all full-time and part-time Staff and Faculty to use Tableau Server at no charge.

UC Flex is the name of the integrated Financials and Human Resources business system implemented by the University of Cincinnati. UC Flex incorporates software from SAP, the world's largest vendor of integrated business systems.
