Collaborative research on the fundamentals of a unified theory of uncertainty. Methods based on such a theory are essential for the kind of information processing tasks required today.
The concept of fuzzy random variable and its role in mixed models of uncertainty will be used to develop applications of such a unified theory of uncertainty to modeling of socio-economic, financial, and engineering systems.
