Professor Nagy has been a Visiting Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London, which is the highest-ranked department in mechanical engineering in the UK. He is working as a Senior Researcher in the Research Centre in Nondestructive Evaluation (RCNDE). This center has been established with initial funding of £1.5M over 5 years from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council of UK and this support has been recently extended for another 5 years. The Centre is a consortium of universities led by Imperial College and University of Strathclyde. The other founder members of the consortium are the Universities of Bristol, Bath, Nottingham and Warwick. The Centre aims to combine innovative technical excellence with industrial applicability in the field of nondestructive evaluation. Professor Nagy is responsible for the development of nondestructive electromagnetic materials characterization and structural health monitoring methods.
