UC has developed a unique technology to modify the surface properties of small particles using a plasma polymerization technique. In collaboration with the University of Technology in Twente, The Netherlands, this process is being applied to rubber fillers. Several students from The Netherlands have visited UC for a 6-month period in order to work on a specific rubber problem in my laboratory using my equipment. I will be a member of their PhD thesis committee at their University. The project has already led to several joint publications.
