Update on UC Health Providers Contracting with United Healthcare Student Resources

Students and enrolled dependents covered under the UC Student Health Insurance Plan will continue to enjoy the highest level of coverage under the policy when they visit UC Health providers and facilities.  Contract negotiations between United Healthcare and UC Health have been finalized and both have agreed to continue contracting with each other.  If you have received some type of communication which states otherwise, please disregard the notice.  Please use the contact information in the top right corner of this webpage to contact UC Student Health Insurance now and in the future with any questions or concerns regarding insurance matters of this nature.  Thank you for your patience during this routine process.

NEW WAIVER PROCESS FOR SOME MILITARY VETERANS

Military Veterans, if you are eligible to receive medical services at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and you wish to waive Student Health Insurance (SHI) with that specific information, we simply need you to complete a 2014-15 SHI Waiver Form; no more letters required from the VAMC.  Please click the link below to obtain a PDF of the SHI waiver.  You may also call SHI to request a waiver be faxed or emailed to you.  Prior to the fall semester deadline of 9/8/2014, please submit the waiver to SHI in person, by email, or by fax.  Please find our contact information in the top right corner of this page.  A WAIVER SUBMITTED AFTER 9/8/2014 WILL BE APPLIED TO SPRING, NOT FALL, SEMESTER AND YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE SHI PREMIUM.

STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE:

Senior Audit

Professional Development

Dual Enrollment

Greater Cincinnati Consortium of Colleges & Universities

Being enrolled in a Distance Learning class and being enrolled in a Distance Learning program are entirely different enrollment statuses.  Any student who is enrolled in a Distance Learning program is not eligible for Student Health Insurance and will not be responsible for paying the Student Health Insurance premium.  There are no exceptions to this rule.
