Urban Design Charrette

The Community Design Center worked with the Wright State University Economics Center and the City of Dayton to conduct a design charrette for the redevelopment of East Third St, a key east-west street in Dayton that connects major employment hubs to Downtown. The project is based on the existing Revitalization Plan of 1990 and three years of previous work developed by Weed and Seed in partnership with Wright State University. Preliminary recommendations of the visioning and design process call for a Complete Streets strategy for the corridor including a Bus Rapid Transit proposal designed to not only move people from to and from major employment centers, but to promote a concentration of new development around four hub locations.
