Award-winning ethnomusicologist Ailsa Lipscombe joins CCM’s faculty

UC College-Conservatory of Music Interim Dean Jonathan Kregor has announced the addition of Ailsa Lipscombe, PhD, to the college’s roster of distinguished performing and media arts faculty members. An award-winning researcher, Lipscombe begins her new role as Assistant Professor of Ethnomusicology at CCM on Aug. 15, 2024.

US Coast Guard Band's 'Heartland Harmonies' tour presents concert at CCM

The United States Coast Guard Band brings its "Heartland Harmonies" concert tour to UC's College-Conservatory of Music on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. The free concert is presented in Corbett Auditorium as part of the band's tour through the American South and Midwest regions for public performances and educational outreach.

Pianist, educator and scholar Lynn Worcester Jones joins CCM’s faculty

UC College-Conservatory of Music Interim Dean Jonathan Kregor has announced the addition of Lynn Worcester Jones, DMA, to the college’s roster of distinguished performing and media arts faculty members. Jones is an innovative pianist, educator, writer, speaker, mentor and leader who encourages career preparation and excellence in students. She begins her new role as Associate Professor of Piano Pedagogy and Coordinator of Group Piano at CCM on Aug. 15, 2024.

CCM Voice alumna receives Richard Tucker Career Grant

UC grad turns humanities degree into entrepreneurial success

Growing up on Ludlow Ave. in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Clifton, Harrison Fowler had planned to enroll in the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) at the University of Cincinnati. UC was close to home, and ROTC seemed like the right choice. But life had other plans. At the last minute, Fowler withdrew from ROTC and enrolled to earn his bachelor’s in Spanish, which meant he needed a study-abroad experience to complete his degree. He was apprehensive, but completed his requirement in Madrid, in a move that would change the direction of his life. Says Fowler of his foreign-language major, and his experience abroad: “Speaking another language opens up a whole other world and relationships for you.”
