The Collaboration Network held a virtual conference on Racial and Health Inequities Exposed by COVID-19 featuring several presentations for the Cincinnati community including discussions or commentary from Andrew Beck, MD, a Cincinnati Children’s physician and associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati; Karen Bankston, PhD, professor of emerita of the UC College of Nursing; and Amy Rule, MD, a Cincinnati Children’s physician and assistant professor of pediatrics at UC.

Bearcats are returning to in-person classes and activities at the University of Cincinnati this fall with excitement and a dose of caution for COVID-19 restrictions. Cincinnati media are reporting that more than 46,700 students are expected to begin instruction with a more traditional fall term.

A study by a UC College of Nursing researcher examines the impact of mass incarceration on young people and their families. Samantha Boch, PhD, worked as a nurse in several correctional systems in Ohio, which sparked an interest in the role mass incarceration of young people has on them and their families.
