WCPO: Racial gap widens as COVID-19 pandemic continues

The Center for Clinical & Translational Science and Training hosts a virtual discussion

The Collaboration Network held a virtual conference on Racial and Health Inequities Exposed by COVID-19 featuring several presentations for the Cincinnati community including discussions or commentary from Andrew Beck, MD, a Cincinnati Children’s physician and associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati; Karen Bankston, PhD, professor of emerita of the UC College of Nursing; and Amy Rule, MD, a Cincinnati Children’s physician and assistant professor of pediatrics at UC.

Participants at the virtual talk presented regional data and offered context and background for a discussion about COVID-19's disproportionate impact on communities of color in Greater Cincinnati. The Collaboration Network is a program of the Center for Clinical & Translational Science and Training, run jointly by UC and Cincinnati Children's.

WCPO and WVXU covered the virtual discussion.  For individuals who missed it a recording of the event is available online.
