Glomerular disease treatment guidelines updated

UC to lead study on extended use of drug in ACL reconstructions

The University of Cincinnati will lead a national study that could have a major effect on how people, especially teens, recover from ACL surgery. It will soon begin enrolling patients in a clinical trial. The study will look at the effectiveness of using a surgical drug post-operatively to speed up recovery. Tranexamic acid (TXA) is already regularly used during surgeries to limit bleeding.

Parakeets ‘test waters’ of new relationships

Researchers at the University of Cincinnati found that monk parakeets introduced to new birds will “test the waters” first with potential friends before approaching a potential friend and avoid risking increasingly dangerous close encounters that could lead to a painful or injurious bite.

UC awarded $985K NIH grant to prevent infant obesity

November 19, 2025

The University of Cincinnati has received a $985,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to test a community-based intervention aimed at promoting healthy eating and feeding practices in early childhood. The project, led by pediatric psychologist Cathy Stough, is a collaboration with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Every Child Succeeds.
