CCM Wind Symphony presents 'Inspirations' concert on Feb. 2

The CCM Wind Symphony is joined by the Cincinnati Wind Band and the CCM Trombone Choir to present a thrilling concert of collaborations, culminating in a performance of Respighi’s epic Pines of Rome. Titled "Inspirations" the performance is at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 2 in Corbett Auditorium.

Cincinnati Media: Big surprises for future UC Bearcats

Media from across Greater Cincinnati provided coverage of Decision Day 2025 activities at the University of Cincinnati. Five area high school students were surprised with admission, scholarships and a visit by the Bearcat Mascot, UC band and cheer team. UC Vice Provost Jack Miner welcomed the newest Bearcats to the university.

UC reaches $740M in research expenditures

The University of Cincinnati and its affiliates reached $740 million in research expenditures in 2024, a 6% increase over the previous year and a record for UC. Research partners include UC Health, Cincinnati Children’s, the Cincinnati VA and the University of Cincinnati Research Institute.

A faculty team at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Landmarks in America History and Culture grant. The award of $190,000 will fund their project Cincinnati Sounds: Exploring a Musical City’s Spaces, Places, and Sounds.

CCM's string quartet in residence, the Ariel Quartet, opens the college's 2025 ticketed performance series at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in Robert J. Werner Recital Hall. Titled "Europe: From 1903 to 1945" the concert features works by Erwin Schulhoff, Benjamin Britten and Maurice Ravel. Tickets are on sale now through the CCM Box Office.

CCM's production of 'Little Women' named best local show of 2024

Cincinnati Magazine recently interviewed theatre aficionado Kirk Sheppard, who publishes reviews of local productions on his Sappy Critic website. When asked about his favorite show of 2024, Sheppard singled out the UC College-Conservatory of Music's February 2024 production of Little Women: The Broadway Musical.

CCM student wins ACT Entertainment's grandMA3 Programming...

January 3, 2025

UC College-Conservatory of Music Lighting Design and Technology student Nate Miller was selected by the ACT Academy as the grand prize winner for the 2024 grandMA3 Programming Contest, where designers created virtual lighting shows using grandMA3 software. For his submission, Miller created a light show to accompany Daft Punk's "The Game Has Changed" from Tron: Legacy.
