UC’s College of Arts and Sciences honors outstanding alumni

Five graduates of UC’s College of Arts and Sciences were recognized with alumni awards during the A Night with A&S annual ceremony earlier this month. As community leaders, philanthropists and professional pioneers, the impact of these alumni can be felt at the college, university, state and national levels. Also at the event A&S scholarship recipients were celebrated, and had the opportunity to meet with the donors whose contributions helped make their college experience possible. MyDesk virtual desktop maintenance set for March 16

March 15, 2023

MyDesk virtual desktop (vDesktop) service, including remote access to many of the software options available in on-campus computer labs, will be unavailable from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., Thursday, Mar. 16, during a planned maintenance window. The update will improve virtual desktop performance, reliability, and security.

Security enhancements coming to student email over spring break

Digital Technology Solutions (DTS), the university’s central technology services and solutions provider, will add an external email banner and two security tools—Microsoft Safe Attachments and Safe Links—to all student email accounts over UC’s Spring Break.

Campus Services IT joins Digital Technology Solutions

Campus Services IT is now part of Digital Technology Solutions (DTS), the university’s central technology services and solutions organization. The Campus Services IT team officially joined DTS Wednesday, Feb. 1. The team will continue to provide IT support and top-notch customer service to Campus Services.

UC announces 'One IT' collaboration to improve efficiency

ServiceNow upgrade set for 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7

January 3, 2023

The IT Service Portal (uc.edu/ithelp) and Knowledge Base (kb.uc.edu) will be intermittently unavailable from 11:30 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, until 2:30 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 8, during a planned ServiceNow upgrade. You will have access to 24/7 support for eLearning tool issues.

UC internet maintenance planned overnight January 5-6

OARnet, the University of Cincinnati's internet service provider, will undergo maintenance from OARnet maintenance planned from from 10 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 5, to 1 a.m., Friday, Jan. 6. You may experience brief, intermittent interruptions to internet connectivity and commonly used services during this necessary maintenance window.

Some UC IT services will be down Dec. 16-17

Select IT services and systems will be unavailable from 10:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16, to 11 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, during a planned power outage in the university’s primary data center. Many commonly used cloud-hosted services will remain available.
