Claude now available in BearcatsGPT AI platform

The University of Cincinnati has added Claude as a model option within BearcatsGPT, UC’s generative AI platform.

Claude availability in BearcatsGPT marks another step forward in expanding access to dependable, enterprise-supported AI tools for teaching, research, operations, and administrative work.

Made by the company Anthropic, Claude is now available as a new model option within BearcatsGPT, giving students, faculty, and staff another university-supported AI tool to use within UC’s AI environment.

Use Claude through BearcatsGPT. Claude is available as a model option within BearcatsGPT, allowing the UC community to access Claude’s latest capabilities while aligning with existing university policies and governance processes.

Claude may be helpful for tasks such as: 

• Brainstorming ideas and approaches for teaching, research, operations, or administrative work.
• Drafting, summarizing, or refining public-facing or internal content appropriate for AI use.
• Exploring complex topics, organizing information, and supporting productivity within UC’s approved AI environment.

Use Claude only through BearcatsGPT and only with approved data.
Use of Claude and other AI models is limited to data classified as public under UC’s Data Governance and Classification Policy 9.1.1. For work involving UC data, use BearcatsGPT rather than independently downloaded, subscribed, or personal versions of AI tools.

Bearcats Claude must not be used for federal research.
This agent is not authorized for use in connection with federal research activities. Users must not use Bearcat Claude to support, analyze, draft, summarize, process, store, or otherwise assist with any research project that is federally funded, federally regulated, subject to federal research compliance requirements, or conducted on behalf of a federal agency.

Important reminders:

• Do not enter restricted, controlled, confidential, regulated, or sensitive university data into Claude or any other AI model.
• Do not use independently downloaded or subscribed versions of Claude or other AI tools for UC work. 
• Fable and Mythos models remain out of scope and should not be used for UC work

Sign into BearcatsGPT with your UC username and password, then select Claude as the model option.

BearcatsGPT is UC’s generative AI platform. BearcatsGPT provides the UC community with a university-supported environment that aligns with university data and privacy standards. Information entered into BearcatsGPT is not used to train external public models.
