Authorities from around the region gathered to lead panels at the regional Energy Conference hosted by Applied Science on May 07th, 2009 at the Duke Energy Convention Center.

The conference kicked-off at 10:00 AM and ran till 4:00 PM in the afternoon. The 2009 Agenda packed a punch with speakers addressing the vital issues of today - Alternative Energy Sources, Going Green and Green Jobs Impact, Building Sustainability, Career Paths in Energy, and much more.   Ahmed Elgafy's session on Alternative Energy and thereafter meeting the Super High Mileage Vehicle development team added addtional impact.

Several innovative approaches and solutions to what many are calling "the greatest opportunity for tri-state economic development in the 21st century were explored."

While we expected to draw heavily from tri-state businesses, the Energy Conference was open to the public.
