Nagle returns home in triumph

Philip Nagle successfully completed his challenge of biking through all 48 states on Monday, Sept. 14., about 6 p.m.. With a good heart for raising money to support research and awarness for blood cancer and a winning spirit, Nagel started on his trip on July 6th, 2009 at 8:00am.For more press releases from local papers, click on the links below.

Philip Nagle, an honors student in Construction Science at CEAS - Applied Science , University of Cincinnati, is going to bike around the U.S. to raise money to support research and awarness for blood cancer. In just 48 days, he will be attempting to cross every state in the continental U.S. on his bicycle. With the aid of a trailing support team, he will be navigating around the country starting in Tipp City, Ohio on July 6th, 2009 at 8:00am. He is currently checking with Guinness Records to see if this attempt would make its place in the Book of Guiness World Records.

Philip Nagle is dedicating this campaign to his Uncle, Alvin Nagle, an outgoing, athletic and personable young man, who died of leukemia while he was in high school. Philip's goal is to raise $48,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by the end of his ride.

Your can help Philip make a huge difference in the lives of those affected by blood cancers by donating to his ride. Money raised goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. All donations are tax deductible. With meticulous planning and dedication toward helping others, Philip still needs more sponsors  to make this event possible. Funds will go toward purchasing cycling apparel, equipment, supplies, food, and gas for himself and his support team.  Sponsors will be recognised through a feature on the campaign website, a logo on cycling jerseys worn during the trip, signage on the road crew trailer, and t-shirts. All  funds derrived from the trip will be given to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  Donations can be in the form of cash, products, and/or gift cards form the sponsoring organization.

There are several levels of donations that could be made and depending on the level, the sponsor recognitions and advertisements vary. For more information about how to donate for this trip, please visit http://www.active.com/donate/48states

It is important to adhere to the instructions in the link above as checks made payable to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society are not credited towards the sponsorship of this event.  Direct checks are just considered a donation for LLS. If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the LLS Branch Donor Manager, Dawn Berryman, by calling (513) 361-2100 or by emailing herat dawn.berryman@lls.org.

To support Philip throughout his trip, Andrew O'Dom and Mehrtash Mostofi will be trailing him with a small RV with an equipment trailer carrying spare parts and supplies. The total distance to be covered according to the plan is more than 8100 miles and the closer Philip gets to his scheduled return, the more people suffering from Leukemia will benefit from his efforts. Lets join his trip with our contributions and support.
