shed, and not just by the St. Louis Billikens, who absorbed an 84-41 whipping.
Martin embraced UC basketball coach Bob Huggins and was noticeably choked up before his final introduction as a UC player at home. But he won't soon be forgotten the 6-foot-9 center was named Conference USA Player of the Year and is considered to be the favorite to sweep the four major national Player of the Year awards. Huggins was also honored as Conference USA Coach of the Year. UC moved back up to No. 1 nationally in both major polls this week, as college basketball prepares for the NCAA tournament that begins on March 16. UPDATE: Kenyon Martin suffered a fractured leg bone and ligament damage during the first game of the Conference USA tournament in Memphis Thursday, March 9. Sports Information Update. Surgery is scheduled for the afternoon of Friday, March 10. |
