Scavenger Hunt Greets New Applied Science Students

About 250 new students to the University of Cincinnati’s College of Applied Science (CAS), 2220 Victory Pkwy., will get ready for the first day of classes (Sept. 20) by gathering for a scavenger hunt and design challenge on the day before – on Sept. 19, 2006.

At 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, the new first-year students in CAS will gather in the college’s auditorium, located on the northeast corner of the four-building campus, to begin a scavenger hunt. Working in teams of five to ten students, the students must complete an informational scavenger hunt where they must explore the College of Applied Science to determine such facts as

  • The elevation of the campus’ Science Building
  • The number of acres comprising the CAS campus
  • The room number of the Machine Shop
  • The room number for the math tutoring lab
  • The last day to return books to the bookstore for a full refund
  • The name of the individual who handles CAS registration for classes
