UC Clermont Cougars Win Division II National Title

The UC Clermont College men’s basketball team won the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division II National Basketball Tournament, beating Penn State DuBois 81-72. The tournament was held on the campus of Southern Maine Community College in South Portland, Maine, this past weekend.

Stefan Dunn (Columbus) scored 24 points and was named MVP of the Tournament. Allen Robinson (Cincinnati) was named to the All-Tournament team, finishing with 19 points and 6 rebounds.

Cougars Head John Hurley earned his 800th career win (high school and college) on Saturday. This is in addition to earning his 600th college career win this season.

"Penn State DuBois was an excellent team, but our players refused to lose," said Hurley. "The Cougars were down 40-31 at the half and pulled it out in the second half. They were the best team we played all year long. It was a great experience for our players – a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We were so pleased and so excited that we won the national championship."
