Among the hundreds of garments on display in this year’s fashion show will be UC-designed hospital gowns – hospital gowns that better meet the needs of both patients and caregivers. The gowns were designed by university faculty and students in partnership with Hill-Rom Company, Inc., of Batesville, Ind., a maker of hospital beds and medical equipment.
The professionally modeled, choreographed and lighted fashion show is sponsored by Macy’s Inc.
The fashion show is part of a June 9-13 week-long display of creative design, architecture, art and planning projects by students in UC’s internationally and nationally ranked College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP). That week-long display of capstone projects by graduating seniors is called “DAAPworks” and is sponsored by P&G Design. “DAAPworks” opens at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9. It runs 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, thru Friday, June 12, and from noon-4 p.m., on Saturday, June 13. It is free and open to the public.
