Cox leads the financial firm he founded in 1971. His company represents thousands of clients, with customers ranging from Cincinnati franchises to executives at Fortune 500 companies.
He was the first African-American to become a member of the Cincinnati Business Committee and has held an affiliation with a number of prominent organizations including Cincinnati Bell, Touchstone Mutual Funds, United Way of Greater Cincinnati and Duke Energy Foundation. He has served on the boards of Bethesda Hospital, PNC, the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History and the Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation.
Cox served on the University of Cincinnati’s Board of Trustees from 1999-2008. During his term, he served as chair of the Physical Plant Committee and Finance Committee. He was elected chair of the UC Board of Trustees in 2004.
A dynamic speaker, Cox has addressed companies and organizations around the nation on topics ranging from tough decision making in the world of business to family issues and challenges.
One of the first three African-Americans to graduate from St. Xavier High School in 1965, Cox attended Xavier University, majoring in political science and psychology. He also holds honorary degrees from the College of Mount St. Joseph and Cincinnati Technical College.
