Get Ready for 2015 Annual Benefits Enrollment

November 1 will mark the opening of this year’s annual benefits enrollment for all University of Cincinnati employees. Benefits enrollment will run from Nov. 1-30.

During the enrollment period, you will be able to choose between two medical plans for 2015: a High Deductible Health Plan/Health Savings Account (HDHP/HSA) Plan and a PPO Plan. Find out more about these

Recent News

• Remember that UC plans to contract with a new vendor, Anthem, for administration of medical benefits. The new three-year contract with Anthem was competitively bid and will allow the university to avoid an estimated $4 million in expected costs had the current contract with Humana been extended another three years. The new contract with Anthem is renewable for up to three one-year periods after 2017.

• The benefits offered via UC’s High Deductible Health Plan (with its Health Savings Account option) and Point of Service Plan will remain substantially the same in 2015, with Anthem providing administrative services that include payment of claims, network access, an online portal, as well as disease and case management.
  

Check That You Can Log Into UC Flex

In anticipation of this year’s annual Nov. 1-30 benefits enrollment, please take a moment to log in to UC Flex to ensure you have ready access to that system.

“If you are not a regular user of the UC Flex system, we encourage you to log in prior to November,” said Elizabeth Aumann, director of benefits. “You will log in with the same credentials – username and password – that are used for access to UC email, Blackboard and all other Central Login services at UC.”

Once you have logged in to UC Flex, enrollment occurs via the Employee Self Service (ESS) tab.

Off campus access to UC Flex Employee Self Service (ESS) requires you to first log into the UC network using the Virtual Private Network (VPN), which can be found under “UC Tools.”

Employees who need to reset passwords to log into UC Flex may use one of two methods, Aumann said.

• An employee may use UC’s Password Self-Service by clicking on “Forgot Password” and entering their 6+2 ID.

• If you need your password reset for accessing ESS from off campus, please call (513) 556-HELP (4357).
