Air Force ROTC, Peace Village Organize Dinner For Disadvantaged Veterans
UCs Air Force ROTC cadets will join forces with the UC Peace Village to serve up an afternoon of hope and relief to military veterans who have fallen on hard times. A special free dinner and honorary service will be held for the local veterans from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Army National Guard Armory, located at 4100 Reading Rd.
The Arnold Air Society Henry Hap Arnold Squadron an honorary service organization for UC Air Force ROTC cadets and the UC Peace Village, founded by School of Social Work Professor Steven Sunderland, are hosting the dinner, which will also include a posting of the colors and entertainment by members of a UC jazz band. The keynote speaker will be Navy Captain (retired) and retired UC Assistant Chemistry Professor Frank Mandralski.
The event is supported by contributions from UC, Aramark Food Services (the universitys food vendor), Goodwill Industries, Joseph House and Mr. Mustang, Inc. of Dayton, Ohio.
