The "Just Conversations" Campus Mediation program provides free, confidential and informal conflict resolution assistance to University of Cincinnati students. The Just Conversations program is housed in and managed by the Office of the Office of the University Ombuds. The Just Conversations mediator/coaches will strive to maintain the confidentiality of their interactions with students barring any imminent risk of serious harm, threats to self or others and/or reports of felony offenses.
The "Just Conversations" program offers both Mediation Services to help resolve multi-party student disputes as well as one-on-one Conflict Coaching for students who would like guidance and assistance with resolving a dispute. "Just Conversations" student mediators & coaches will assist with a variety of student issues including roommate disputes, classroom conflicts and organizational issues.
What is Mediation?
Mediation is a voluntary, informal and confidential process in which trained, neutral mediators facilitate a conversation between disputing parties to assist them in finding common ground and a long term agreement to resolve the dispute. What is Conflict Coaching?
Conflict Coaching is a one-on-one process that helps students effectively manage their own conflicts. Student peer coaches provide confidential and impartial advice for UC students.
