Cluster Hiring Initiative
Request for Proposals (RFP) Phase 1
University of Cincinnati Cluster Hiring Initiative to Advance Programmatic Development
As part of UC's Third Century, the Office of the Provost in partnership with the Office of the Vice President for Research is requesting proposals for the advancement of existing or new programs which enhance UC’s reputation and commitment to research. This includes investing in a Cluster Hiring Initiative to advance research and scholarship that span multiple disciplines and address global grand challenges. The goal of this campus-wide initiative is to create faculty clusters that build on existing faculty strengths supported by new faculty hires in interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary arenas in which UC is currently or has the potential to become a global leader. Focus areas will likely follow Pathways A and B that were developed from a year-long faculty led process that identified UC’s existing faculty strengths and emerging areas of interest, but new ideas and areas are encouraged as well. In addition to growing an interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research agenda, the clusters must contribute to graduate and undergraduate education by training the faculty/scholars of the future.
