Why should I verify my major?
When you take a moment to complete the Verify My Major form, you will help the University of Cincinnati create a Semester Conversion Individual Advising Plan (IAP) which will meet your educational goals and connect you with the right advisor for your major.
Verify My Major is one of the first steps for your semester conversion success, and it takes a minute or less!

How do I verify my major?
After logging in, you are asked to select one of three options on the form:
- Option 1: I plan to graduate from UC prior to semester conversion or transfer
- Option 2: Verify my major
- Option 3: Submit a request for advising assistance

What does an IAP look like?
An IAP has three parts
- Student Information (academic program and area of study, expected completion term),
- Graduation requirements (classes, grades, substitutions), and
- Notes (how requirements are being met, advice about how to complete requirements).

How Do I Verify My Major?
The following are instructions for UC students to use Verify My Major, a new online student self service on One Stop.
After logging in, you are asked to select one of three options on the form:
Option 1: I plan to graduate from UC prior to semester conversion or transfer
Option 3: Submit a request for advising assistance
Remember to click Submit at the end when finished!

Select this option on the form if you expect to graduate prior to Fall Semester, August 27, 2012 or will transfer from UC :

Instructions for Option 2. Verify My Major.
Verify your major as follows:
- If only one program is shown, select it for your Individual Advising Plan (IAP) to verify that you plan to complete this degree program and do not plan to change your major or graduate before Fall 2012 or transfer from UC.
- If multiple award (BA, BS, Certificate, etc.) programs are shown, select one program for your IAP. This will match you with the right advisor. Important: students enrolled in multiple programs can remain enrolled-in and complete those programs as planned, and should seek assistance from each program advisor. Note that a minor can be included with the major you indicate for your IAP.
- If multiple majors (English, Psychology) are shown, the first on the list will be recorded. If your preference is not shown first on the list, contact your advisor.
- Programs which cannot be selected (are grayed out) are not eligible for an IAP. Please select option 3 and request advising assistance if needed.

Don't Forget to Submit!
- Note: if you DO NOT plan to complete one of your listed programs, including a major, minor, or certificate, you should notify the advisor for that program.
- As a convenience, you can also submit this form a second time; select option 3 and indicate in the comments box the programs you will not complete.
Instructions for Option 3. I Need Further Assistance.
Select and provide an explanation in the comments box if:
- You believe this information is not accurate
- You need help in selecting a major for an IAP
- You plan to transition to another major
- You will not complete one of your listed programs
- You are unsure if you will graduate prior to semester conversion

Have a question about the form or need an advising referral? Contact:
Now what?
- If you selected option 1 "I will graduate," and your expected graduation date changes to a a term following semester conversion, you can re-submit this form under option 2 to verify your major for an IAP. You should also notify your college advisor of this change.
- If you selected option 2 "Verify my major" and you change your major or add a program, you can re-submit under option 2 on this form. You should notify the advisors for the affected programs.
- Option 3 "Request further assistance" will continue to be available as a convenience to request assistance
