Fall 2009 Arrival Information

  Residence halls open as follows: 

• Dabney, Stratford, Schneider, Siddall, and Turner Halls open Friday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. 
  
  
• Calhoun, Campus Rec Center, and Daniels Halls open on Saturday, September 19 at   10:00 a.m.

Residents, especially first-year students, are strongly encouraged to arrive on one of the above days as appropriate.  We respectfully request that students arrive for check-in no later than 11 p.m. if at all possible.

Residents of Dabney, Stratford, Schneider, Siddall, and Turner Halls may choose to arrive on Saturday if necessary, but less help will be concentrated in those buildings on Saturday.  Calhoun, Daniels, and Campus Rec Center Hall residents should not arrive on Friday. 

Once a residence hall is open, it remains open around the clock until December 12, 2009.  The largest amount of physical assistance with the move-in will be available during daylight hours.  During hall opening, a limited number of rolling carts and volunteer helpers will be available to make move-in as easy as possible.  Residents should have their University ID available if at all possible.

The University celebrates diversity and strives to be an inclusive and respectful community.  We realize that Rosh Hashana begins at sundown on Friday, September 18.  As such, accommodations for students who need to arrive on Wednesday or Thursday in order to facilitate observance of the holiday are available upon request.  E-mails regarding early arrival for the holiday should be emailed to Housing & Food Services (HFS).
All other early arrival requests should be submitted only for special circumstances such as testing, University employment, athletic requirements or similar other official University business.
