Dr. Stacy Downing
Director

Stacy is a native of Marion, Ohio.  She graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1992, received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati, and her Masters of Arts in Criminal Justice from Xavier University. She received her doctoral degree in Urban Educational Leadership at the University of Cincinnati in 2005. Her professional expertise focuses on student access and retention, student leadership and development, first year experience programs.  In 2002, she wrote a chapter in the book “Our Stories:  The Experiences of Black Professionals on Predominantly White Campuses, entitled “The Beginning of the End.” She is currently Vice President of the University of Cincinnati’s African American Alumni Association, Vice President of Sigma Gamma Rho’s Alumnae Chapter, and is a member of a host of national and local organizations.

Vicki Calonge
Assistant Director 

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2001, Vicki Calonge traveled to campuses around the country as a Field Consultant for Delta Delta Delta Fraternity.  After a year of travelling, Vicki came back to UC and served as the Graduate Assistant for Fraternity and Sorority Life while in her first year of the master's program in Educational Foundations.  In 2003, Vicki became the Program Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life at UC and completed her Master's of Education degree in 2004.  Since then, Vicki has also served as an adjunct instructor for the Center for Access and Transition and teaches a group fitness class at the Campus Recreation Center.

Personally, Vicki is a lifelong resident of Cincinnati and a Bearcat through and through.  Vicki married Allan in June 2005 and enjoys time with family and friends, completing Sudoku puzzles, working out, travelling, and board games.


 

Nicole Lepone
Assistant Director

Nicole grew up in Philadelphia, PA, until she was 14 years old and her family moved to Centerville, OH.  In high school, Nicole was very involved in athletics, playing basketball and softball.  She attended Ohio University in 1999 and received a degree in Journalism.  From there, she worked for the American Heart Association and then returned to OU for a master's degree in College Student Personnel.  Nicole is a huge sports fan and enjoys spending time with friends and family.


 

Heidi Hassel
Program Coordinator for Fraternity and Sorority Life

Heidi was born and raised in Grove City, Ohio.  She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Morehead State University, and her Masters of Arts in Sociology from East Tennessee State University.  Heidi traveled back to Cincinnati from the state of Nebraska in July, 2008.  From her collegiate years to graduate work, Heidi has been involved in Fraternity and Sorority Life for six years.

Heidi enjoys volunteering for Delta Gamma Fraternity, AFA Foundation, NPC, and NIC.  In her spare time Heidi is traveling, singing loudly in the car, and spending time with family and friends. 

 

 

UnKyong Ho
Program Coordinator for Diversity Education

Un Kyong graduated with a B.A. in History and German from Ohio University in 2001.  Post-graduation, she interned with the German Parliament and the German Council on Foreign Affairs.  She has also worked at the United Way, the New Zealand Department of Labour and as an Ohio Innocence Project Fellow at the UC College of Law.  Prior to becoming Program Coordinator, Un Kyong served as Graduate Assistant in Diversity Education for two years.  She is currently enrolled in the joint JD/MA in Women's Studies program at the University of Cincinnati.  In her free time, Un Kyong enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family. 

 

 

Terri M. Hurdle
Interim Program Coordinator for Leadership Programs and Student Organizations

Terri is a Cincinnati native.  She graduated from Purcell-Marian-High School in 1988.  After graduation Terri began her collegiate academic pursuit initially at Tuskegee University in Alabama, however, due to unforeseen circumstances she returned home and completed both her Bachelors and Masters degree at Xavier University.  She is currently working on her doctorate at the University of Cincinnati in the area of Urban Educational Leadership.  In 2004, she wrote a chapter in the book Our Stories II "From Disappointment to Purpose:  The Professional Progress of a Black Professional on a Predominantly White Campus.
