On sunny days, outdoor seating by McMicken Hall offers an ideal setting for study or conversation between classes.

McMicken Commons is a popular UC gathering place, well known among students as a place to read, unwind, socialize and hang out between classes. It is one of four open space areas along MainStreet. The lawns and pathways of McMicken Commons now also include a plaza with shade trees framing the entrance to Tangeman University Center.

Trees planted at this crossroads in McMicken Commons commemorate those who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
