Internationally known architect and UC alumnus Michael Graves, designed the Engineering Research Center, a UC signature building.

A cavernous, vaulted atrium connects the Library Square and Sigma Sigma Commons entrances of the building.

With a compact footprint, but dramatic scale, the Engineering Research Center forms an impressive boundary to Library Square.

With its vaulted copper roof and distinctive chimneys, the 175,000-square-foot Engineering Research Center creates a monumental effect when seen from Sigma Sigma Commons. Exterior walls of brick and Ohio sandstone were designed to blend with existing buildings connected to the ERC: Rhodes and Baldwin Halls.

Together they form UC's College of Engineering complex.
