Stained Glass Classes

Making a stained glass piece is easier than you think! Your instructor will contact you for more information regarding location which should take place in their Mt. Airy studio

Classes are limited to 6 people. Some supplies are provided for you, other supplies must be purchased. Typical costs depend on the scope of your project and must be paid the day of the class (cash or check only accepted). Our instructor will discuss your project and the details of the work before your class to help you plan out the materials needed.

Intro to Stained Glass

In this a 4-hour introduction to the art of stained glass we will be making a sun catcher or small panel using 5-10 pieces. Register early! Class is limited to 6 people.

Beginning Stained Glass

Making a stained glass piece is easier than you think and can bring an array of beautiful colors and light to your home. In this beginning class expert, Mary Jane Riggi will teach you the basics of building a Tiffany style panel using the copper foil method. You'll learn different types of glass, glass cutting techniques, grinding, foiling, soldering, and framing a panel. By the end of class, you will have completed your unique design in an 11"x17" panel (size may vary). Register early! Class is limited to 6 people. Plus supply fee (typically $60-120) payable to instructor.

Make Mosaics

Turn a plain tray, tabletop, or panel into a working piece of art using various glass pieces, including your own broken cups and plates! In this beginning class, expert Mary Jane Riggi will teach you the basics of the direct mosaic method. You’ll learn tips on glass selection, cutting, gluing, and grouting. Please bring your own items to add to your mosaic design, or choose from interesting items available at the studio. Register early! Class is limited to 6 people. Our next class on May 4th will be a great time to make a gift for Mothers Day!

Lead Panel Class

Instructor: Mary Jane Riggi   

The creation of stained glass art dates back to England in the 7th Century. In this fun, fascinating Saturday workshop, you will learn the ancient techniques with expert, Mary Jane Riggi. She’ll provide professional instruction for you to create your own work of art in the “old” tradition. You’ll learn all about glass selection, methods of cutting glass, leading, and soldering. Patterns available from the instructor (most about 11”x17” approximate size of the project). Register early! Class is limited to 6 people.

Painting, Etching and Embellishing Wine Glasses

Saturday, June 1, 12:00 - 4:00PM
$49 / One Class

$30-45 supply fee payable at class (cash or check)

Location: Mt. Airy Studio

Create your own set of one-of-a-kind wine glasses. They also make a great gift. To customize your wine glass, you will work with etching cream and glass paints. Then add wine charms created from glass jewels from the studio supply and other embellishments for a unique look. Light refreshments will be served.

4th of July Intro to Stained Glass

Special 4th of July Theme! Celebrate the Red, White and Blue by creating a one-of-a-kind stained glass suncatcher honoring the 4th of July. Suncatcher will consist of 5-12 pieces. Learn glass cutting techniques, foiling and soldering. Add hooks to hang in a sunny window!
