The Tour:  Join Frank Farmer Loomis in an amazing tour of Cincinnati’s renowned Pinecroft, the estate of Powel Crosley, Jr. Crosley was a radio pioneer, builder of Crosley automobiles and owner of the Cincinnati Reds. Built in 1928, Pinecroft originally comprised 113 acres with a golf course, polo field, stable, barn and vineyard.

The syllabus covers Pinecroft’s Tudor Revival style which you will experience first-hand by savoring the oak-paneled rooms. Other highlights include a walk in the gardens and a look at Crosley himself, often called “the Henry Ford” of radios. The house has many original furnishings purchased by Crosley and recently donated by the Cincinnati Art Museum. A vintage Crosley car will be part of the class.

This is a special opportunity for Communiversity students, as the Pinecroft is not usually open to the public for historic tours and is used only for special events to support its upkeep. Thanks to the Cincinnati Preservation Association and Funky's Catering, we have the opportunity to tour this fabled mansion!
