NEXT Apprenticeship Program for Employers

This page will be removed after July 1, 2021. Please visit the new now for the latest information for current and prospective employers and partners.

Rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, cybersecurity and other emerging technologies are happening in ever shorter cycles, changing the very nature of the jobs that need to be done - and the skills needed to do them - faster than ever. Yet it is estimated that one million tech jobs will go unfilled in 2020.

Drawing on the success of our world-renowned cooperative education program, the University of Cincinnati - in collaboration with five partner institutions and the computing and informatics industry across the region and eastern U.S. - created theĀ NEXT Apprenticeship Program. This program will close the talent gap by providing industry partners with skilled employees, and, in the process, create lifelong opportunities for those who may never have considered technology a viable career choice.

The NEXT Apprenticeship Program provides robust, flexible pathways to well-paying, high-skill careers in informatics, computing, and cybersecurity for underrepresented minorities, veterans, the unemployed or underemployed, non-tech majors and workers who need upskilling.

With the support of our industry partners and Industry Advisory Board, the NEXT Apprenticeship Program ensures access to talent that meets the needs of employers, and so much more. Find out what the NEXT Apprenticeship Program can do for your organization.
