Capstone Competition 2023

Are you ready to take your presentation skills to the next level? If so, the Capstone Competition is for you. Modelled after the Three-Minute Thesis competition popular at the graduate level, this event challenges you to convey the purpose, process, and outcome of your Capstone project using just one slide and outstanding storytelling.

The Capstone Competition is for single presenters only, no groups. A panel of judges selects 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place presenters in each session ($300, $200, and $100 awards provided) and all participants will receive evaluations of their presentations. Participants are required to meet with Dr. Lamkin at least once for feedback and guidance. Additional coaching is available on request. Do not let the word “competition” deter you! The experience is encouraging and rewarding for all.

This year, students will deliver their presentations live online Tuesday April 18, 2023 in two sessions: 11 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m.

Sessions schedule:

  • Welcome and Introduction of Judges (5 min)
  • Presentations (40 min; max 8 presenters)
  • Students Reflect on Experience; Judges Deliberate (10 min)
  • Winners Announced (5 min)
