  6. Accept a job offer
  7. Complete I-9 verification to be authorized to work
  8. Go through new employee orientation

All new employees are required to complete I-9 verification within the first three business days of starting employment. This process ensures that an individual is authorized and eligible to work in the United States. A list of acceptable documents can be found on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services I-9 web page.

When hired you will be required to submit identification documents as part of the I-9 process,. Examples of such documents include:

  • Passport or Passport Card
  • Photo ID plus Social Security Card

  • Permanent Resident Card

International Students

To complete I-9 employment verification, F1 or J1 international students typically need to provide their passport, I-94 card and I-20 or DS-2019 form.
International students are required to submit the appropriate F1 or J1 Employment Onboarding Request in the iBearcatsGlobal system to be onboarded.
