Dr. Guardia joined the University of Cincinnati in 2016. He is a scholar/practitioner with over 20 years in various higher education and student affairs administrative roles. He has direct oversight for the following units: Bearcat Bands, Dean of Students Office, Parent & Family Programs, Resident Education & Development, Student Affairs Marketing & Communications, and Student Conduct & Community Standards. Dr. Guardia is also Adjunct Faculty in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services at UC and was adjunct faculty at Loyola University Chicago and Florida State University.

Dr. Guardia came to the University of Cincinnati from Northeastern Illinois University where he served as Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs. Prior to NEIU, he spent six years as the Director of the Center for Multicultural Affairs at Florida State University. He also held positions at Iowa State University, George Mason University, and Tallahassee Community College.

Dr. Guardia has received numerous honors for his work in student affairs, including being selected as 2016 Diamond Honoree by the American College Personnel Association, the Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors Sue Kraft Fussell Distinguished Service Award in 2017, and the 2020 National Association of Student Personnel Administrators Latinx/a/o Knowledge Community Outstanding Senior Student Affairs Officer award. He also served as past national Chair of the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO).

Daniel Cummins has over 35 years of professional and higher education experience, including positions in residence life, housing, Student Conduct, and student affairs. He has served in leadership roles with various professional organizations, including the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) Executive Council and the Association for Student Judicial Affairs (ASJA) Executive Board. Daniel was recently appointed to the Advisory Council to the Hamilton County Strategic Prevention Framework/State Incentive Grant (SPF/SIG), which strives to reduce alcohol and drug abuse through educational efforts and strategic marketing.  He currently serves on the PreventionFIRST Executive Board.  In addtion, Daniel is also currently serving as Chair of the Advancement & Transition Services (ATS) at UC, ASCA Archiving Committee.
