What I love most about UHP
I love how we are unique among other college honors programs. Our values go beyond grades and test scores because UHP understands that there is more to a student than their academic performance.
Favorite honors experience
My favorite experience is the Biomedical Research and Mentoring Program (RaMP) during my 1st year. I was placed in the Pain Research Lab at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital under Dr. Robert Coghill and Hadas Nahman-Averbuch. It was a great opportunity to work with amazing researchers and students to gain experience in an exciting and innovative field.
Best UC moment so far
The best moment was the day I moved in and finally realized that UC had become my new home. Every moment since then has felt as amazing and exciting as it did then.
Advice: It’s okay to say “no”! Don’t be afraid to put yourself first and take care of your needs before others’. If you aren’t taking good care of yourself and your health, you won’t be able to help anyone else.
I’m currently in my first co-op at the Cleveland Clinic. Although I love Cleveland and the work I’m doing, I’m looking forward to coming home to Cincinnati in December. Next summer, I’ll be back at the Clinic, hopefully taking on more responsibility and roles!
