What to Expect & How to Prepare

If you are identified as a student in need of temporary space due to COVID or travel, you will reside at Bellevue Gardens. This page details the same information provided to a student who is identified for quarantine or isolation. Use it as a reference to plan for a potential situation, or if you misplace the email you will receive.

 

Professional staff members are on-call 24 hours a day at 513-356-9970. If questions arise, please seek out resources at the numbers listed below

 


Packing

We have included recommendations on what to pack for your temporary move. You should be able to move all items in with one trip and the assistance of a moving cart. 

Provided

  • Linen pack with 2 sheets, blanket, towel, washcloth  
  • Water  
  • Cleaning supplies 

To Pack

  • Comfortable clothes  
  • Pajamas  
  • Pillow  
  • Additional blanket/comforter 
  • Personal items to complete classwork  
  • Personal hygiene items/toiletries  
  • Over the counter medicines to assist with your comfort (pain reliever, cough syrup, etc.)  
  • Thermometer to track temperature  
  • Devices small enough for easy transport  
  • Charging cords for electronic devices  
  • Snacks and beverages  
  • Laundry detergent, softener, etc. 

We do not provide medicine of any kind at this time. Please make sure to bring these along or plan to get them via delivery service


Where Is Bellevue Gardens? Will I Have Access?

Bellevue Gardens is located on Martin Luther King Drive East between Eden and Highland Avenues. The nearest Bearcat Shuttle stop is on the North side of Martin Luther King at Highland Avenue (see map below). Go to building 239.

You will have entry access to Bellevue Gardens with your UCID for the duration of your quarantine/isolation period.

Contact Information & Emergency Numbers

During your stay in Bellevue Gardens:

  • For daily needs and general questions regarding your stay, call 513-356-9970, 24 hours a day
  • If you don't receive an immediate response from the desk, or if you have an urgent, non-emergency need, you may call Coco Pettiford, Quarantine & Isolation Coordinator at 513-580-8584 or coco.pettiford@uc.edu.
  • For an emergency requiring medical or police assistance, please call 911.

A member of the CARES team will be in contact regularly to check on you and your wellbeing. If you need something, please feel free to communicate that with the CARES team member. This includes class-related and mental health assistance.

Meals

If you have a meal plan, you will receive an email with a menu survey within 24 - 48 hours of checking into your temporary room. This will allow you to preview menus and select from the choices available for the upcoming week. Those without meal plans or with 36 - 48 plans will receive meals free of charge.

Don't Miss Your Meals

Meals will be delivered to your unit each day at the following times:

  • Breakfast: 8 - 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: Noon - 12:30 p.m.
  • Dinner: 5 - 5:30 p.m. 

Set an alarm for these times as staff will set the food outside your door and knock, letting you know the food has arrived. Many residents experience fatigue or require extended sleep.

Please wait before opening the door as to not expose the staff.

Checking Out of Bellevue Gardens

Checkout from Bellevue Gardens may begin at 6 a.m., only if you have received official clearance from the COVID Check Response Team.

Please remove all trash and place it in the red bins at the end of the hallway, bag linens and place in cart in the lobby, remove the sign from your door, and return your key to the Service Center. 


Convenience Items

You may use options such as Target and Kroger delivery as well as outside vendors, such as Door Dash, UberEats, Amazon Prime, etc. 

 

When getting items delivered, alert the front desk prior to delivery, with name and room number to ensure correct and timely delivery. We ask that all deliveries be brought up by Desk Assistants to limit exposure to both staff and third-party workers. 


Trash Removal & Laundry

Please double bag your trash and take it to the designated trash receptacles in Bellevue Gardens. You can find the red trash receptacles at the end of the hallway. 

Laundry facilities will be available in Bellevue Gardens. Only one student is allowed in the laundry room at a time. The laundry in Bellevue Gardens is located on the first floor across from the front desk. Laundry facilities run via Bearcat Card. Laundry detergent is not provided. 


Guests - Visitors

No guests or visitors are permitted to protect yourself and the greater UC community. 

Additionally, you should remain in your temporary assignment and not walk or gather in or around Bellevue Gardens during your time there. You may leave only to take care of essential needs, such as testing or other health-related activities. 

If leaving, please call and inform the desk before you leave Bellevue Gardens, to minimize confusion and maximize safety.  


Packages

During your time in quarantine or isolation, limit package deliveries to items required for your stay and essentials.

 

Please do not order any other items with the expectation that delivery can be made to your Bellevue Gardens location. We are unable to deliver these items to you and ask that you plan to retrieve these upon your departure from Schneider when you return to your on-campus location. If you order a package that is a necessity, please inform the desk so they are aware of arrival and can bring it safely to your door.


FAQ

A Roku TV is provided in the common area of each suite.

No visitors are permitted during your stay in quarantine/isolation. Your family or friends may drop items at the front desk for you.
