Pete Ehrlich Scholarship
The Pete Ehrlich Scholarship is an annual scholarship that will award up to one full tuition scholarship for the following academic year. The scholarship process will be managed by the Student Activities & Leadership Development office and will be awarded every spring at the Celebration of Student Involvement.
The purpose of the scholarship is to support an undergraduate student(s) who embodies the values and strong leadership qualities that Pete Ehrlich taught and exemplified for decades on campus; leaders that represent their community/team through integrity, respect, and hard work. Preference will be given to students who are involved on campus.
- The application will open on September 1, 2022 and close on November 1, 2022.
- Following application review, a select number of finalists will receive an invitation for an interview with the scholarship committee.
Pete grew up on a farm in northern Colorado where he later graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Business Administration. After graduation, Pete traveled to Istanbul, Turkey on a mission's trip. This trip led to him joining the campus ministry, Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU) in 1985. Pete's first ministry assignment was on the campusof Idaho State University, where he met his wife, Jamie.
Pete and Jamie married in August of 1988 and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio early 1989 where Pete began working with Athletes in Action (the athletic ministryof CRU.)
Pete led the Athletes in Action ministry on the University of Cincinnati campus for 30 years (1989-2020), where the majority of his time was spent with the football, baseball, track and field, soccer and cheerleading teams. During this time, Pete could be found leading bible study in the dorms, on campus, in the locker rooms or prior to awaygames traveling with the football team.Pete has impacted the lives ofcountless student athletes, building deep relationships, teaching spiritual truths and creating environments for growth and opportunities for leadership development.

Pete and Jamie have four children. Dillon (graduate from the University of Cincinnati, chemical engineering), Amanda (doctorate from the University of Indianapolis, occupational therapy), Vance (graduate from Cedarville University, Computer Sciences) and Cade (adopted from Nadvirna, Ukraine in 2001 and graduate of Lebanon High School.)
