Peer Tutoring

The Learning Commons offers tutoring for UC students at our office in 2925 Campus Green Dr. Suite 10. Sessions are one-on-one with a subject-specific tutor to answer your questions. Our dedicated tutors participate in ongoing training to equip them with strategies to support extended classroom learning. Tutoring is free of charge, and students may register using the link to the right.

The Learning Commons offers tutoring in more than 300 undergraduate courses including subjects such as math, science, languages, business, and writing. If you notice your desired course is not offered, please let us know.

Important Note: There is no peer tutoring during the summer semester!

CRLA Certification

The Peer Tutoring program has received the Level II International Tutor Training Program Certification from the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA). CRLA is "a group of student-oriented professionals active in the fields of reading, learning assistance, developmental education, tutoring, and mentoring at the college/adult level.”

The International Tutor Training Program Certification has two main purposes:

  • It provides recognition and positive reinforcement for tutors' successful work from an international organization, CRLA.
  • Sets an internationally accepted standard of skills and training for a program to certify their tutors.
