UC Fall Semester Metro Cards Now on Sale

Registration for fall semester 2013 UC*Metro bus cards begins on Aug. 7. The cards will be valid from Aug. 26 through Jan. 5, 2014.

Prices will continue to hold steady for members of the UC community who join the UC*Metro Program. Fare card registration costs for fall semester will remain the same as in fall 2012. Student registration is $53 per semester, and employee registration is $160 per semester.

Students may now place their UC*Metro Program fare card registration charge or replacement fee on their UC student bill.

There is also no change in the EZ Ride Fare Card program for fall semester 2013. The card will continue to be free to obtain for eligible students and employees. EZ Ride

Fare Card holders will pay a $1 cash drop for all travel and no Zone Fees apply. EZ Ride Fare Card Holders can also purchase a $.50 transfer as needed.

Spring semester will carry the same terms as fall semester 2013.

The UC*Metro partnership began in spring 2007. The program is funded, in part, by UC Student Government and UC administration.

Kelly Merrill, an assistant professor of health communications and technology in the University of Cincinnati's College of Arts and Sciences, was cited in an article on teen use of AI chatbots for friendship and therapy purposes. Merrill, who studies the mental and social health benefits of communication technologies, told The Verge that extensive research has been conducted on AI chatbots that provide mental health support, and the results are largely positive.
