University Spokesperson's Statement on UC's Closing on July 29
The safety of our students, faculty, staff and visitors is our top priority. As an abundance of caution, we decided to close our Uptown campuses at 11 a.m.
We want to assure the UC and Cincinnati community this is precautionary only.
Because we are a state university we are working with state safety officials and they concurred with this decision. Again, it is a precautionary measure only.
We agreed that in the event of unpredictable reactions, that prudence was necessary even if it proves to be unnecessary. It is better to cause minor inconveniences rather than jeopardize safety.
