UC's B-School Makes BusinessWeek s Top 100 Again
Noted mostly for ranking MBA programs,
has ranked undergraduate business programs only three times. In this latest survey, they expanded the number of schools listed to an even 100. In its most recent rankings, they placed the University of Cincinnatis undergraduate business program at 91st out of 100.
We are honored to have received this recognition from Business Week, says Dean Will McIntosh. Being ranked in the top 10 percent of all accredited US business schools is further acknowledgment that our strategic focus of providing a quality, experiential education is giving students the competitive advantage they need in an ever-changing business environment. This increased visibility among business schools will help us continue to provide our students and stakeholders with the best business education around.
Methodology
To identify the top undergraduate business programs, BusinessWeek used a methodology that included nine measures of student satisfaction, post-graduation outcomes and academic quality.
They started with 137 programs that were eligible for ranking, including the schools from their 2008 ranking plus 10 new schools. In November, they asked more than 85,000 graduating seniors at those schools to complete a 50-question survey on everything from the quality of teaching to recreational facilities. Overall, 23,756 students responded to the survey, a response rate of 27%. The results of the 2009 student survey were then combined with the results of two previous student surveysfrom 2008 and 2007to arrive at a student survey score for each school.
More than 30 of the schools were eliminated because of low response numbers to the survey.
