Cincinnati Enquirer: UC DAAP grad, ‘Project Runway’ alum is Taft Museum artist-in-residence
Asha Ama Bias-Daniels will lead public programs, teach workshops and visit Cincinnati schools
University of Cincinnati alumna and fashion designer of "Project Runway’" fame is Cincinnati's Taft Museum of Art’s 2021 Duncanson artist-in-residence, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Couture designer Asha Ama Bias-Daniels will lead public programs, teach workshops and visit schools across Greater Cincinnati April 12-26.
Taft guests can see examples of her work alongside the museum’s upcoming exhibition, “Walk This Way | The Stuart Weitzman Collection of Historic Shoes” starting Feb. 27.
Bias-Daniels studied as a Cincinnatus Scholar at UC's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning, graduating magna cum laude with a degree in fashion design.
She was the first Cincinnati designer selected to compete in a show in the Project Runway franchise, was a finalist on “Project Runway: Under the Gunn," and competed on “Project Runway All Stars.” She went on to create designs for a range of artists, from Zendaya to Little Big Town.

All were eager to hear and learn more from NIS scholars and the industry projects they worked on throughout the year.
