Share the love this Valentine’s Day at Hoxworth Blood Center

Donors get a sweet gift when they help save a life

Hoxworth Blood Center is asking blood donors to share the love this Valentine’s Day with a lifesaving blood donation (and get something sweet in return).

Donate blood at a Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Center between Thursday, Feb. 11, and Sunday, Feb. 14, and receive a special four-piece box of candy from Esther Price.

“Valentine’s Day is a perfect time to show our love and appreciation to the ones who mean the most to us — but it’s also an opportunity to share that love with someone in need,” said Alecia Lipton, director of public relations at Hoxworth. “Every day, people here in our community require blood transfusions for traumas, surgeries, and cancer treatment. What better way to show love this Valentine’s Day than by saving a life through a selfless blood donation?”

Hoxworth is also featuring a “Refer a Friend” promotion during the month of February. Current Hoxworth donors can refer their friends and family to donate blood; should they donate, both individuals will receive a $5 e-gift card.

Appointments for blood donation are encouraged to maintain proper social distancing, and masks are required of all donors at Hoxworth Neighborhood Donor Centers.

To schedule a donation, call Hoxworth at 513-451-0910 or visit www.hoxworth.org.   To refer a friend, visit https://hoxworth.org/donors/refer.html

Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, Hoxworth collects more than 90,000 units of blood from local donors to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals. Hoxworth Blood Center: Saving Lives Close to Home.
