UC's Lawrence Sapp prepares for summer games in Toyoko
The story of first-year UC student Lawrence Sapp is proof that persistence pays off, even with obstacles.
In a nationally syndicated story by Scripps, Sapp explains what it means to be an elite athlete and a college student enrolled in UC’s Transitions & Access Program for students with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
“Just got to get on (the block), be ready to race in a different country. I’ll be ready bring it on for Toyoko,” says Sapp.
Over the next few months, Sapp will know whether he will have a spot on that block, swimming for Team USA.
