WCPO: Spring Grove Cemetery’s hidden secrets
UC English professor discusses his new book, 'The Speaking Stone'
It’s been said that dead men tell no tales; however, their headstones certainly do. In his new book, "The Speaking Stone: Stories Cemeteries Tell," author Michael Griffith examines what endures while roaming through Cincinnati's iconic Spring Grove, the nation's third-largest cemetery.
Griffith is a professor of English in the University of Cincinnati's College of Arts & Sciences. His books of fiction include "Spikes" (Arcade, 2001), "Bibliophilia" (Arcade, 2003) and "Trophy" (TriQuarterly Books/Northwestern University Press, 2011), which was named one of Kirkus Reviews' Best Books for that year. "The Speaking Stone" was published by University of Cincinnati Press.
