Law student named a Squire Patton Boggs Foundation Public Policy Fellow
Catherine Douglas one of 22 law students selected for 2021 class.
Catherine Douglas, rising 3L, has been named a 2021 Public Policy Fellow with the Squire Patton Boggs Foundation. This summer she will work at the Juvenile Division of the Hamilton County’s Public Defender’s Office, advocating for fairness and equality in the criminal justice system.
The Public Policy Fellowship Program awards fellowships to first- and second-year law students who demonstrate a commitment to public service and a developed interest in public policy. These law students commit their summers to advancing public policy issues through work at non-profit institutions, government agencies and domestic or international organizations.

This internship follows Douglas’s fellowship at the Ohio Innocence Project last summer. Prior to law school she received her bachelor’s degree from Pratt Institute and a master of Fine Arts degree from Sarah Lawrence College. With a professional goal to work toward policy reform in the criminal justice system, this fellowship will be an important part in achieving her goal.
The 2021 Fellowship Program has 22 Public Policy Fellows. To date, the Foundation has provided fellowships to 298 law students at 24 schools across the US and overseas.
