The Washington Post: Pandemic prompts changes in how future teachers are trained
Experts say the emphasis on technology is necessary in higher ed curriculum
Across the country, teaching programs are giving more emphasis on how to plan and implement quality virtual learning; and many U.S. educator preparation programs are incorporating more about digital tools, online instruction and mental and emotional wellness in their courses to reflect takeaways from the pandemic.
The Washington Post asked several education schools they planned to do about virtual teaching and learning. The University of Cincinnati’s director of the School of Education, Mary Boat, PhD, is cited as saying that the UC plan is to continue some virtual teaching of future educators.
