Giddy: Reasons other than prostate cancer why PSA levels may be elevated
High levels of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) are often associated with prostate cancer, but there are other reasons for high PSA levels that are not cancer-related.
Mohamed H. Kamel, MD, professor of clinical surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and a UC Health physician, told online publication Giddy that some non-cancer related reasons for high PSA levels include inflammation of the prostate or a benign enlargement of the prostate.

Using environmental DNA analysis, researchers identified a collection of plants used in ceremonial rituals in the ancient Maya city of Yaxnohcah. The plants, known for their religious associations and medicinal properties, were discovered beneath a plaza floor upon which a ballcourt was built, suggesting the building might have been blessed or consecrated during construction.
